What is RSS?RSS stands for Rich Site Summary but it is more widely known as Really Simple Syndication. We publish RSS feeds that allow you to keep up to date with any news articles we publish, including our new book releases. Whether you are an author, a reader or a buyer for a bookshop or a distributor, our feeds will reach you immediately they are released. You don't have to keep revisiting our website or wait for the information to appear in a search engine index. Our RSS feeds are syndicated to search engines and RSS directories and all you have to do is subscribe to our updates, which won't cost you a penny, and enter our link in you feed reader. How does it work?If you want regular updates about any information that is published on the internet, you merely subscribe to the news source. Then, whenever something new is published by the company, you are notified immediately. If, for example, you want the latest news headlines from the BBC, you enter the BBC's news feeder in your RSS reader software. A notice occasionally pops up in your Windows system tray summarising the latest headlines. You can scan through all the summaries and choose those that you want to read in detail. The reader will display the relevant web page without you having to visit the actual website. It's the same process with our news. When we publish a new article, you will be notified and you can read it without visiting our website. How to get a News ReaderThere is already a good range of news readers available on the internet and more are being developed all the time. We recommend RssReader which can be downloaded free of charge from http://www.rssreader.com/download.htm. It's easy to install and simple to operate. Alternatively, if you use My MSN, My Google or My Yahoo!, you will find buttons on our homepage that automatically add us to your feeder How to use RSSWatch out for websites and web pages that display the
The URL you have copied to the clipboard will automatically show in the dialogue box and you just need to press NEXT twice. The software connects to the web page you requested and you merely confirm that it is to be added to your news feeds. Then you will receive a summary of any new information that is published on that website. Note: The legend on the orange button may read XML instead of RSS. This is perfectly OK and will also lead to RSS feeds.
